Counselling and Psychotherapy Supervision available for Counsellors and Student Counsellors

Hi I’m Suz welcome to my website.

Counselling may be able to help you. Counselling offers a therapeutic space for you to be heard and a place to explore issues that are bothering you. Given your own space for refection this can lead you to make more sense of your life and how best to enhance it through becoming more self aware leading to a feeling of being empowered.

My name is Suz and I am a fully qualified counsellor. I work from a convenient location in Northfield. I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I work from a person centred modality and believe that we are all unique. The relationship in counselling is the healing element. Given the space and opportunity to discover your real self you will gain an insight into yourself leading to greater self acceptance and awareness. Therapy will give you the chance to discover the real you taking a deeper look inside yourself and connecting with your emotions. Counselling will lead to greater self awareness in turn making you feel empowered. I am passionate about counselling and the counselling process. I have engaged with counselling myself and know how daunting it may be to take the first step. Finding the right counsellor for you is important so please take your time to look at my website and decide if I may be right for you.

I work with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to experience it more fully. I am an experienced LGBT affirmative therapist. I work as an associate counsellor in the NHS as part of Healthy Gay Life. I am passionate about working with gender identity issues , sexuality and issues that may be experienced by the LGBT community.

I also have experience working with bereavement and I have previously worked with Solihull Bereavement Service. If you have experienced a bereavement or loss and find you are struggling, I can help you. Grief at times can become overwhelming, and the feelings that surround loss, intense. I have a special interest in working with pet bereavement and know from personal experience how devastating losing a beloved pet can be. I take pet bereavement seriously and understand that sometimes you may find that people do not understand. The relationship we have with our pets is unique and to lose that can be extremely upsetting.

I have a keen interest in sport and also offer sports counselling. Together we can discover what is holding you back from enjoying a sport or maybe a traumatic event is impacting on your performance. Sometimes sport may have taken over and you may feel you are getting addicted or struggling with compulsive training. I offer sports counselling if you are experiencing issues in relation to exercise, I am a keen athlete myself and am aware how although sport can be great for your health, it could also impact on mental health issues.

I am experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with:

Gender identity
Coming out
Cross cultural relationships
Pet bereavement
Family/ relationship issues
Low self esteem
Sports counselling

My practice is within easy reach of Birmingham, Harborne, Bearwood, Quinton, Northfield, Selly Oak, Bartley Green, Rowley Regis, Mosley and Kings Heath.
